To send periodic emails: The email address you provide for enquiring or order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your request, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

You will be given an opportunity each time to opt out to any messaging that you no longer wish to receive.

We may process your information where we have a legal obligation to do so, such as adverse event reporting and similar. In this instance, Key Oncologics is required by law to document and disclose the relevant information, including personal information with authorities, where necessary for further assessment, to contact the reporting parties. 

We gather information about you automatically through the use of our web page, i.e. your computer’s IP address and your navigation of our web page. Refer Section 10, Cookies and Other Tools.

    • manage and ensure drug safety (pharmacovigilance)

    • carrying out research and development projects

    • inform / invite expert panels and advisory boards and to manage medical information queries

  • We use personal information to serve the customer / patient / you:

    • respond to inquiries

    • provide products and services on request

  • We use personal information to improve product and related services:

    • to have a better understanding on how our product and services impact the patient / you.

    • further develop and improve our products and services.

  • We use personal information to protect patients and customers:

    • Maintaining and protecting the safety of our products, services and websites or any other systems, preventing and identifying security risks, fraudulent or other criminal or illegal activities.

  • To communicate to you through the communication channels in which you have agreed to be kept up to date.

  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations:

    • Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act, 4 of 2013.

Your personal information is processed by Key Oncologics and not shared with third parties (unless in the event of an Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR)).

We maintain physical and electronic safeguards for protection of your personal information. These safeguards include implementing and maintaining technologies such as:

  • firewalls,

  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.

We will, at all times, comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding the confidentiality and security of personal data.

Key Oncologics will retain your information for the duration of our relationship or as long as it is required by applicable law, and thereafter, such information shall be deleted and be destroyed.

You are allowed to update your personal information and preferences.  The options to modify personal information are available on our web page or contained email instruction.

 

  1. OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION:

In general, you will provide us with your personal information voluntarily.  The are no detrimental effect on you, however there might be circumstances where Key Oncologics cannot action without certain personal information.  In this situation it will not be possible for us to provide you with information on your request.

Subject to certain legal conditions and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA), you may request access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of your personal information. In particular you have the right to:

  • request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you.  A fee to make the personal information held by us available, will be charged under the provisions of PAIA

  • withdraw consent

  • request deletion and/or destruction of your personal information

  • object to the processing of your personal information

  • request for the correction of your personal information

You can visit our web pages without disclosing your identity, however the server automatically collects information such as:

Transmission of data via the internet is not secure and third parties can intercept / use the data.

  1. ADVERSE EVENT / ADVERSE DRUG REACTION (ADR) REPORTING:

When reporting an ADR or pharmacovigilance relevant information to us on one of our products, we will use and share this information solely for pharmacovigilance purposes. We will ensure that your personal information remain strictly confidential and in compliance with the POPI Act and the Medicines and Related Substance Act 101 of 1965.  Information in the report is collected in our pharmacovigilance database and are processed and evaluated by medical professionals at Key Oncologics.

 

  1. INQUIRIES USING THE WEB PAGE CONTACT FORM:

Visitors to our web page can transmit inquiries making use of the ‘Contact Form’.  Personal and health related inquires cannot be responded to there.  If you contact us via the website, we may store information such as name, postal address, email address, type of query, and other possible information to enable an answer to your query. This information will not be used as a basis for contacting you again, unless you have given us your express consent to do so. The Key Oncologics web page may contain links to other websites. The guidelines and procedures described here do not apply for these linked websites. Key Oncologics may not be held liable for any actions taken from, or the contents of, those websites.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Should your information be shared with third parties outside the Republic of South Africa, we will only do so on condition that recipients provide adequate levels of protection that are substantially similar to the conditions of lawful processing contained under POPI and other conditions relating to transborder transfers of information.
